Praveen Kumar, Ex- Director (Humarn Resources), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.

Mr. Praveen Kumar is presently Director (Human Resources) at The Energy Research Institute (TERI), New Delhi. He is also a Faculty at TERI University, New Delhi. He has held several positions of eminence in government undertakings and Ministry departments of the Government of India. Some of the positions held by him are as follows:

He has served on the Board of Directors of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., India’s largest commercial enterprise, from 2001 till 2005.

As Head of OCC: He spent 12 years on deputation with Oil Coordination Committee (OCC), a nodal agency for downstream petroleum sector, under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India.

While heading OCC, he ensured smooth functioning of all aspects of downstream oil industry including transition to de-regulation.

He is also a member of Academic Advisory Council of ERIA (Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia) , an international research institute in Jakarta (Indonesia)

Mr. Praveen Kumar as part of IAS Gurukul brings in his vast experience in the largest public sector undertaking in the country (Indian Oil Corporation) as well as his decades of experience in an industry in which government continues to play a major role i.e. the petroleum industry. Also, his years of experience as the Director of Human Resources in Indian Oil makes him particularly suited in identifying unique talents and potentials of each individual student and polishing them for public sector employment.
